According to a report by CCTV News on August 18th, in the first half of this year, with the effective support of policies such as promoting consumption, the operation of China's cold chain logistics has been stable with a slight increase, demand has been growing steadily, and the market size has continued to expand.

Data from the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing shows that in the first half of this year, the total demand for food cold chain logistics business was 192 million tons, an increase of 4.35% year-on-year. The total revenue of food cold chain logistics service enterprises in the first half of the year was 279.94 billion yuan, increasing by 3.84% year-on-year.

According to the "2025 First Half Cold Storage Market Analysis Report", in the first half of this year, the capital investment in cold storage projects increased by 7.67% year-on-year. From the perspective of investment, under the dual drive of government planning guidance and market demand, the construction, expansion and renovation, as well as intelligent transformation of cold storage facilities are accelerating, which has continuously expanded the investment scale and steadily increased the market volume.

According to the "2025 First Half Cold Storage Market Analysis Report", in the first half of this year, the capital investment in cold storage projects was 22.306 billion yuan, an increase of 7.67% year-on-year. By the end of June, the total capacity of cold storage facilities was 260 million cubic meters, representing a year-on-year increase of 6.12%.

In addition, in the second quarter, mainly due to the growth in market demand, the vacancy rate of cold storage facilities in most cities slightly decreased compared with the first quarter. The regional distribution of the cold storage rental market also shows a significant regional concentration feature. The East China, Central China and South China regions together account for nearly 80% of the national rental market share.

Driven by the rapid development of fresh food e-commerce and chain restaurants, the demand for urban delivery is strong, and the sales of light refrigerated trucks have grown rapidly. Meanwhile, driven by policy subsidies and the opening of road rights in many places, the sales of new energy refrigerated trucks have grown rapidly, and the overall sales of refrigerated trucks have maintained double-digit growth year-on-year.

Data from the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing shows that the sales volume of refrigerated trucks in the first half of this year was 29,474 units, up 18.19% year-on-year. Among them, the sales volume of new energy refrigerated trucks was 10,548 units, increasing by 119.61% year-on-year. The penetration rate of new energy refrigerated trucks was 35.8%, rising by 16.5 percentage points year-on-year.
